MEO Encryption is a program for file and e-mail encryption and decryption. It has a very basic graphical user interface with only three options to start with. You can either Encrypt files, Encrypt an e-mail, or Decrypt a file.
The first one allows you to encrypt either files or folders. You can use two encryption algorithms to encrypt your data: the standard blowfish or 3-des. 3-des is more secure but it takes longer to complete. Blowfish will do for most encryption operations, though. When you encrypt a file, you have two options to decrypt it. You either need to have MEO installed on the target computer, or you can create a self-decrypting file, which will ask you for a password before extracting. MEO, however, offers no compression for the files.
Another encryption operation you can undertake with MEO is send encrypted mails that won't be readable unless you can decrypt them. The application has an SMTP server that allows it to send encrypted messages from within the application, and it even supports attachments.
I myself would love to see a drag-and-drop option for encrypting files. That would make the application a whole lot better. The good thing is that MEO works both in Windows and Mac OS X, so you can share files with those platforms.
